WhatsApp DOWN – Chat app NOT WORKING
WHATSAPP is down across UK, USA, Europe and Asia – the popular chat app is not working for thousands of sers in Britain right now, with reports increasing by the second that the app is broken.
According to the site, problems with the chat app occurred around 8am this morning, with hundreds of people reporting issues with the app.
One said: “ Whatsapp down in Kenya for hours now. Users from parts of Europe, USA and Asia also experiencing delays in sending messages.”
In Zimbabwe this outage started at 10:35 where some users couldn’t send and receive whatsapp messages. This is not the first worldwide outage that WhatsApp has suffered this year the app went offline for thousands of users back in May.
WhatsApp has a number of troubleshooting tips for user’s experience connection problems to try:
Restart your phone, or turn it off and on.
Update WhatsApp to the latest version available on Google Play.
Open your phone’s Settings app > More > and turn Airplane mode on and off.
Open your phone’s Settings app > Data usage > and make sure that Cellular data is turned on.
Open your phone’s Settings app > Apps > WhatsApp > Data usage and make sure background data is not restricted.
Open your phone’s Settings app > Wi-Fi and turn it off and back on.
Try connecting to different Wi-Fi hotspots.
Make sure Wi-Fi stays on during sleep mode.
Reboot your Wi-Fi Router.
Contact your mobile provider and make sure your APN settings are configured correctly.
Upgrade your Android OS to the latest version available for your device.
Confirm you are using the latest version of WhatsApp Messenger from the App Store.
Restart your iPhone:
Hold the On/Off button until “slide to power off” appears. Slide to power off your device. When it is off, press the On/Off button to turn it back on.
In iPhone Settings, turn Airplane Mode ON then OFF.
In iPhone Settings > General > Reset tap Reset Network Settings (This will delete all your saved Wi-Fi passwords).
