Cash shortages in Zimbabwe are increasing almost every day and people are now embracing to the use of Electronic Transactional Payments Systems, According to the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, mobile money transactions totaled $11 billion in the period January to September this year.
Engineer Samuel Kundishora (Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services implored that operators (Ecocash, Telecash, One Money) to engage with issues to do with connectivity and integrate their mobile money services across all networks.
He said his Ministry is concerned by a consumer reliance on a single supplier of critical services like mobile money services.
Eng Kundishoora urger Zimbabwean to embrace mobile money services as they have now become a global trend platform, He challenged OneMoney to a facility to include rural and underserved areas in terms of financial inclusion and developing strategies that ensure all citizens have access to the product. – @Kiya_Cool
