Another new “baby” for 2.0
The world of gaming is taking over in this modern day world. Both young and elderly people are participants in this sector. Many companies are running and making huge profits from games especially those on mobile gadgets like mobile phones. It is due to the growing gaming industry that many companies and individuals have ventured into the industry.
Our very own Gerald Gombiro, Programmer and Game Designer who is also the founder of 2.0 recently published a new game named Slide and Smash. Speaking to Eyetro Digital, Gombiro is optimistic that this game will catch the attention of many. “This is a sweet and cute game, designed to enhance the player’s joy and experience. It’s truly endlessly addicting and its gorgeous graphics are sure to keep the players engaged and excited,” said Gombiro. “Sliding and smashing gummies is so exciting you won’t stop playing this addictive free casual puzzle game”, he added.
Playing the game, Slide and Smash cute gummies on your way to high scores in this endless casual puzzle game. The player must match and slide gummies to similarly colored sides of the board to smash and crush them. The player has to simply swipe their screens to slide gummies to matching sides of the board. Smash more than two gummies to get higher points and unlock special types of gummies for memorable sweet moments.
Gerald Gombiro, (born July 13, 1989) is a budding Zimbabwean game designer and programmer whose work spans over 10 games, 4 of which have been published commercially, including Babu, and now Slide & Smash! He primarily specializes in the mobile games space and releases his games under the banner of 2.0 (two point oh) games. 2.0 is an upcoming indie game development studio based in the small city of KweKwe, Zimbabwe. It is expecting to grow and build a team of professionals purely focused on creating engaging games that will leave players with unforgettable experiences.
After graduating from National University of Science and Technology (NUST) with a BSc Computer Science degree, he has been perfecting and honing his game development skills. He is a completely self-taught game designer and artist, having drawn his inspirations from the likes of Edmund McMillen, Jonathan Blow, and John Carmack to name a few. Gerald was born in Gweru and grew up in the mining city of Kwekwe where he became interested in computers at an early age. He attended Shungu High School in Kwekwe. Gombiro was introduced to video games via an 8-bit Tetris like game on an old handheld console owned by a childhood friend. One of his favorite games of all time is Stalker: Clear Sky. Gerald is a strong devout Christian, who attends Harvest House International. He sites his Pastor, Senior Pastor Tendesayi Nhiwatiwa as a great mentor, his parents as pillars of support and several churches congregate as shoulders he has stood on.
