Snapchat planning to gain its market share
The last year 2017 has been a slow year for Snapchat. Snapchat has a total of 173 million daily actives for its entire application whilst Instagram has a total of 700 million monthly users, The social app, Snapchat launched Stories in 2014 as a way to share photos and videos but it never got to gain much of market share or even better market share to its rival Instagram.
Snapchat users will soon be able to share Stories outside the app to Facebook and Twitter in an effort to ignite growth on the social media app.
Users will be able to share Stories to their linked social media accounts or through text or email with a link to a webpage where people who don’t have the app can view the message and to those who have received the redesigned Snapchat app, on which the CEO Evan Spiegel said the update would make the app easier to use for older generations and drawing inspiration from Facebook and Twitter’s scrolling news feed It will roll out to other users over the next few weeks.
On the redesigned app, users will swipe to the left of the main camera screen to see chats, stories and messages from their friends, and swipe to the right for news,
