Vivo launches phone with in-display fingerprint sensor
Cybersecurity has always been a major concern in the Tech world, smartphone users are always worried about how secure their gadgets particularly from hackers, thieves etc. This has made programmers, coders to came up with fingerprint sensors which never delivered the job. Vivo, a major Chinese smartphone brand announced the X20 Plus UD, after showing it off at CES 2018, the first-ever smartphone to come with such technology.
The Verge reported that the phone is the result of collaboration between Vivo and Synaptics, the US-based sensor maker. “The demand for in-display fingerprint sensors has grown as phone design evolves in the direction of slimmer bezels and screens taking up almost all of the front of the device” noted the Verge.
The Vivo X20 Plus UD has a sensor built into its 6.43-inch Super AMOLED display, which lights up with a fingerprint picture whenever you might need to use the smartphone.
In a move to protect a user’s data in smartphones, even giant mobile manufacturers like Apple and Samsung have also started installing on-screen fingerprint sensors on their gadgets.
Although the innovation does not really shun the threats at hand, it has been tipped to go a long way in trying to reduce mobile theft and hacking.
