Vodacom SA being the first African mobile network to exceed 80% population coverage on 4G, the company announced. Zimbabwe’s biggest network, Econet is lagging behind, but trying to provide the best network in Zimbabwe.
The MNO has been improving service delivery such as active users, internet coverage and voice distribution, ratings on voice, data cost and; quality of internet speeds and customer service.
“Econet now provides 68.8% 4G/LTE coverage in Zimbabwe, with 57% of the population covered by 3G and 51% covered by 2G,” Potraz noted.
Econet also dominated in internet and data usage with 70.9% Market share of data usage. Its competitors Netone and Telecel had 22% and 7.1% market share of data usage, respectively.
