Millions of Subscribers Rush after Econet Zimbabwe.
Econet Wireless Zimbabwe has technologically come up with products and services which improve daily lives of its customers, a move being welcomed 11,400,00 millions of its subscribers in 2018 from 10.3 Million of 2017.
Each business segment has played a role in ensuring that they come up with products and services that enhance a targeted group of its subscribers.
The youth customer segment managed to come up with the programme known as the Elevate, a programme with the products which are meant to empower the youth.
The programme saw 1,2 million youths subscribing to get empowerment products. According to Econet’s Financial Results released by Econet on the 28th of February, this has increased company’s Average Revenue Per User (ARPU).
“This strategy has been validated by the increase in the number of customers subscribing for our services and the overwhelming response to our customized products services”, reads the financial results.
Following the successful launch of the Kwese TV in Zimbabwe, the company has come up with brand names Ķwese iflix (an application that lets you watch series, movies and sport on your device online), and Kwese play which has made it user welcome and convenient to its subscribers.

Through Ecofarmer, Econet made about a million subscribers, Ruzivo learning (online interactive digital learning platform targeted at primary and secondary students), over a million students subscribed and Ecosure had over 2 million subscribers in the year under review.
Mobile money transfer services are also playing a pivotal role in enhancing the people’s lives as evidenced by over 176 000 new customers for Steward bank and over 50 000 Ecocash merchants.
This indicates that the products and services it is offering are all convenient to its subscribers from their Profit After Tax which tripled to $132.3 Million from $36.2 Million.
Econet closed its 2018 with an $831.6 Million on Revenue from $621.7 Million of the 2017 year end.
