Google Chrome Dominates the Browser Market Share: Zimbabwe
Having been Launched in 2008, Google Chrome is a free web browser created by Google that uses the WebKit layout engine. Google Chrome is known for its very simplistic and minimalistic design and touted as the fastest browser out there.
According to the results released by gs.statcounter in May showing the browser market share in Zimbabwe, Google Chrome had 35.6% make itself to the on the top spot on the list followed by Opera with 29.23%, UC Browser, Firefox and Safari had 10.46, 7.12 and 2.98 respectively.
Many reasons why we think a lot of people prefer Chrome to any other browsers is that:
> When a user sign into Chrome on any machine, anywhere in the world, all extensions and bookmarks and preferences are loaded within a few seconds.
> The vast gallery of extensions, games, tools, and incredible functionality that comes with Chrome exceeds any other. Chrome is actually an Operating System. Even Firefox is far superior to Internet Explorer in this regard.
> The biggest single superiority of Chrome is not the browser itself – it’s Google. When you use Chrome signed in with a Google account, Google becomes one giant store. There are new delights around every corner. You are already logged into all of it, and it remembers you everywhere you go.
> Google search engine as default but easily configurable. The start-up page lists the most frequent pages you’ve visited and allows you to click and access them with ease.
> Chrome automatically translates pages into a language you understand for your convenience.
Although Google Chrome is gaining its Zimbabwean Market Share the browser has its disadvantages like Chrome uses up a lot of memory (RAM) when running it. If you accidentally close the browser, Chrome will close all the tabs opened without warning.
