State-owned Telecommunications company, Telone on the 3rd of October launched a new application called DEOD (Digital Entertainment on Demand) a video streaming service just like Kwese iFlix and Netflix. The application can be used on a smartphone, Smart Tv and Personal Computers.
Installing and launching the app for the first time.
Soon after downloading and installing the app in an Android smartphone, this app is nice looking and was very swift in using it. DEOD runs smoothly especially when it’s running on Telone’s broadband.
DEOD Features >The application has categories in it that are:
What’s New > This actually shows the movies, series, music which will be new to the platform.
Leaving Soon > In this categories the platform shows existing content.
Staff Picks > This is mainly for cartoon lovers, in this category you can filter them to Adventure, Animation, Family & Kids and Drama.

The packages are as follows:
:> DEOD On Demand goes for $5.99 for 30 days access while Weekly, Weekend and Daily access for $2.75, $1.55 and $0.90.
:> DEOD Premium is $11.99 for 30 days, (offers News, Sport and On Demand television shows and movies)
:> DEOD TV goes for $8.99 per month.
For those who are using Telone’s ADSL Access to DEOD is zero-rated and payments can be made through EcoCash, Paypal, TeleCash and vouchers which are purchased at any Telone outlet.
The App runs smoothly without any glitches, we had a feel of it using Telone’s Broadband. We tested the application on android marshmallow and nougat. Our hope is that the experience is similar on all supported versions of Android and iOS.
The fact that a DEOD account can be used on a maximum of 5 devices is a good thing because almost everyone these days has 3-4 devices they own. Digital Entertainment on Demand lacks the latest content and we feel that the application should also support filtered local content as per country is in since the app supports Zimbabwe, South Africa, Zambia, and Botswana).
