Statcounter as at November 2018 reported that 8.31% of the Zimbabwean population use YouTube as the source for video entertainment, whereas 51.57% access the internet using mobile phones.

YouTube, is an American video-sharing website headquartered in San Bruno, California. The service in February 2005 was formed by Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim, former PayPal employees.

We are going to look at how an android user can block ads (adverts) on YouTube using android powered devices.

The best way to watch YouTube videos without ads on an Android Device is to install a browser that has a built-in ad blocker like Adblock Browser for Android.

If you find that the ad blocking browser doesn’t work as well as your browser of choice, you can keep using your regular browser for other purposes. There is no need to uninstall your current browser.

Download and install a browser app that’s capable of blocking YouTube ads on Android:

  1. Open the Google Play Store.
  2. Type Adblock Browser for Android and tap the magnifying glass icon.
  3. Click Install.
  4. Click Open.
  5. Click only one more step.
  6. Read the information about how the ad blocker works, and click finish.
  7. Navigate to YouTube in the Adblock Browser for Android app.
  8. Verify that the ads are disabled.

If you don’t like the Adblock Browser for Android there is another option where you can download a modded version of YouTube, YouTube Vanced.

YouTube Vanced adds a number of features to the official YouTube app, including built-in adblocking, background playback, black/dark themes, and much more.
