Following the suspension of two of NetOne executives, rumour has it that former Chief Executive Officer, Lazarus Muchenje is on his way back to retain the hot seat.
The two suspended are CEO Brian Mutandiro as well as financial director Sibusisiwe Ndlovu. The two are being accused of financial abuses following the company’s recent financial audit.
Ironically the two were among the 9 NetOne executives once fired by the then boss Muchenje last year.
Although Muchenje is said to have already landed the CEO seat earlier this year, it is yet to be clear whether the former boss has actually been reinstated.
This comes after recent rumours that Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Misheck Sibanda has blocked the state-owned mobile company from reinstating the fired Muchenje.
Sibanda is alleged to be saying such a move is against the mandate of the new dispensation. Efforts to get further clarification from the acting CEO Mr Nkosinathi Ncube were fruitless as his phones were not reachable by the time of this publication.
