Skype has announced that users can now add up to 50 people in a single video or audio group call on the platform  that is double the previous limit, beating WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Telegram and Apple’s FaceTime. The Microsoft-owned platform says that it has added a notification feature to replace the ringing as the default, so the receivers will get a quick “ping” when they are summoned.

If the notification of starting a call is not enough, users can select individual members to ring, or if your group has less than 25 participants, you can ring the entire group at once.

As at January 2019, Skype was ranked number 16 with 300 Million Active Users. The platform has become less popular because it was failing to bring some cool features the market is looking for, hopefuly the introduction of this new feature will help Skype gain its market share.
