- A” level results released.
- Remotely access your Zimsec 2019 exam results using a Web-Portal.
Probably you know, The Zimbabwe Schools Examination Council (ZIMSEC) have released A Level results for those who sat for the November 2019 ZIMSEC examinations. This, of course, can bring mixed feelings among candidates as they reflect on their exam performance, trying to imagine how much they can reap.
However, the most relief thing since last year about these results is that students can now have the option to view their results using the online results portal. This is good as it means you can at least see your results without having to pay for bus fare and their outstanding fees.
Traditionally a lot of schools used to hold former students captive, using results as leverage when it comes to demanding all sorts of payments from students. These payments range from lost book fees and outstanding fees. More often schools have always felt that this is the only way they can get students to pay what they owe. Schools withdraw results until the students have paid whatever it is the school feels they owe despite this being illegal.
However, the online results portal has thrown a spanner in all that. Now students and or guardians can view results from the comfort of their homes without wasting money paying for bus fare if you wrote your exams at a remote centre, a boarding school for example, but it also means the student no longer has to contend with the demands of their former school.
This can serve the little a family have considering the economic hardship the country is currently going through especially with the pass rate showing a lot of students don’t do well in their examinations. So one can be excused to ask, what incentive does a student have to pay what they owe just so they can get a slip when they know they have failed?
The most devastating thing though is that some schools resorting to hacking as a counter to get what they are owed by former students. This is because the online results portals which can be found here, or alternatively here have a pretty glaring weakness. Schools can easily hack these portals in a way that can make it hard for specific students from viewing their results online.
All they do is just create an account in the name of the student. When the student tries to create an account they will be told the account already exists.
If it was last year that would have been the end of the road. It would have meant the student would not be able to view their results. However this year there is a way around all the student needs to do is to click on the reset-password button. This will basically allow you to recreate your account and thwart those attempts. You just have to pick a new username and password and use your candidate number and other details. Simply as that you can be able to view your results.
