Huawei has surpassed Samsung as the World’s largest smartphone manufacturer. According to the data by Counterpoint research, it was the first time in the history of smartphone manufacturers when Huawei has become the largest. The data resulted from the research of April 2020.
The manufacturer of Samsung smartphones had momentarily slowed down due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The Samsung company sturdily depends on the India, United States of America, Latin America and Europe as its main markets but due to the closure of physical stores and strong decline in smartphone demand, it, therefore, suffered a quite bit. The South Korean tech was beaten up by 2% with Huawei in market share.
Huawei is doing exceptionally well in its home country, explicitly for the reason that, in April the Chinese market was already recuperating. The Chinese consumers driving Huawei sales up, offsetting the declining sales in other markets where Huawei is losing ground by due to the lack of Google Mobile Services.
The lockdowns in most countries ease off and the markets will start to make progress. This also implies that Samsung will likely to improve and recapture its position the following months.
