WhatsApp hacks have been on the rise in Zimbabwe and last week, we looked at how users can protect themselves from such cyber-attacks.
These steps included never sharing your verification code, enabling two-step verification and taking down important information from social media accounts. But what if your WhatsApp has already been hacked?, this article will give you a guide on how you can check if your WhatsApp account has been hacked or not.
So when a WhatsApp account has been hacked, the hacker can see the victims ongoing chats, see previous messages and even operate the account like their own.
A hacker can sabotage your whole life by replying your massages, getting confidential data using it against among others which why users must get to know how they can prevent these attacks or get out of them.
How to check if you have been hacked
Go to your WhatsApp and open the options tab (click on the three dots on the top right of your interface), select WhatsApp web.

From there you can see the number of devices logged into your account, type of device being used and whether the hacker is using the WhatsApp application or WhatsApp web.

If you notice that another device or devices are logged onto your account, select “log out from all devices” from the WhatsApp web tab. Immediately all the other logged-in devices will be logged out leaving you unhacked.

Users must always check their WhatsApp web from time to time to maintain their privacy and safety.
