Online audio streaming and media services platform Spotify is soon coming to Zimbabwe. This platform is experiencing its expansion into 85 new markets around the world for instance Asia, South America and Africa.
If you try to access music on Spotify, you will receive a message telling you that the service is not available in the country but as soon as it is introduced in Zimbabwe everyone will be able to stream music on Spotify. In most of the countries in Africa, there is part of this expansion. These countries include Angola, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, can’t Verde, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal and many other countries of Africa.
In a statement, Spotify said that “As part of our ongoing commitment to building a truly borderless audio ecosystem connecting creators, Listeners and content Spotify are embarking on a sweeping expansion that will introduce the world’s most popular streaming subscription service to more than a billion people in 80+ new markets around the world and add 36 languages to our platform”.
Spotify’s main goal is to establish a global village in terms of sounds and stories. They want to transform local content into international content. They are certain that this expansion will carry through the global village aspect. The statement indicates that “Our dedication to international artists and listeners is unwavering. Working closely with local creators and partners, we will deliver a Spotify experience that meets the unique needs of each market, with scales language translations and specialized payments formats. These 80+ markets represent more than 1 billion people – potential Spotify listeners who have yet to tap into the power of our platform”.
Another ambition towards this Spotify expansion is the empowerment of propelling artists, making their dreams come to reality. They also want to ensure that the existing rich music cultures in each of their new markets will be able to reach a global audience. Spotify is aiming to reach several corners of the world for instance Asia, the Caribbean, Europe, and Latin America, there are allowing the new creator to discover new ideas and also to build a career in audio creation.
