NMB Bank has reached yet another milestone in its efforts to give its customers total control over their banking by unleashing 5 new services during an event held via their connect app on 8 March 2021.
This article will serve to break down each service and how it will impact NMB cardholders.
According to NMB bank CEO Mr Ben Mashaya, the virtual branch will allow you to do cash transactions, withdraws or deposits, pay bills, DSTV payments etc anytime, anywhere and using any currency over your mobile phone. To withdraw or make deposits using the virtual branch, all you need to do is confirm your details and after that, you simply visit the bank to collect your readily available cash.
You can also send someone else to make the collection in your place by simply confirming their details on the platform rather than yours. This improvement by NMB will result in less congestion and ques at the bank’s branches as they will only need to visit to collect readily available cash. The platform also allows you to make online payments like Zimra, School fees, Dstv, Zesa etc, something we used to do using payment facilitators such as Paynow.
NMB has also joined other banks in employing the trending Al powered chatbot which helps in improving customer interaction. The chatbots name is SERA and will for the meantime only be available on Facebook.
NMB bank has also added loan applications to their mobile banking (*241#). This means the loans are only for NMB cardholders and will in the meantime be available to civil servants and will spread to include everyone as time goes. This is a good move by Nmb in helping the community to grow.
For more information, you can dial (*241#) and find out.
Perhaps you might already know about this service but NMB allows anyone to open an instant lite account on their mobile device. The lite account allows you to pay for services, as well as send and receive money without any card however you will still need to collect it but at your preferred time and date.
