The Bible is the most widely read book in the world, and if you’re looking for the best local and ad-free Bible app with a stealth user experience and a clean user interface that makes it easier to read than ever before, look no further! Then the Starr Bible is your best bet.
With the ease of smartphones, having an app bible makes it easy to have God’s word wherever you go, but if the app is difficult to navigate, the convenience brought by technological advancements is lost. Let’s look at why this application is the best fit for you.
Design and user experience (10/10)
My overall impression of Starr Bible was positive. It was very easy to navigate because it was well organized; the Old Testament and New Testament are divided into two sections under one screen, giving you quick access to each. What impressed me the most was the app’s quick response to commands. I was able to quickly navigate to the verses I desired.
Bible study tools (8/10)
Highlighting is very simple in this Bible app; simply tap anywhere in a verse and a very nice panel will appear, allowing you to choose your highlighting colour. Speaking of colours, there are eight to choose from, but in future updates, I suggest the developers add the ability to customize the highlighting colours. The highlighted verses can then be found later on the home screen in a section labelled “highlights.” You can also bookmark your favourite verses and make notes on them for future use.
Another noticeable improvement that I recommend for the future is the ability to expand the highlight selection, as the app only allows you to highlight, copy, and share full verses.
Ability to copy and share (8/10)
It is very simple to copy and share verses with Starr Bible. Simply pressing a verse brings up a neat panel at the bottom of the screen where the share and copy options are easily accessible.
Multi versions (8/10)
The current bible versions include several different translations that you can explore with the touch of your finger.
King James Version (KJV)
New king James Version (NKJV)
Amplified Version (AMP)
Good News Bible Version (GNB)
